Welcome to the vibrant world of Sport and Physical Education at Falmouth School, where we place a strong emphasis on providing a multitude of sporting opportunities to our students within our state-of-the-art facilities. Physical education is at the heart of our school, and we are dedicated to nurturing the physical and mental well-being of our students through a comprehensive and progressive curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.

Our curriculum is structured to develop core skills that go beyond the field or court, encompassing teamwork, evaluation, leadership, performance, health-related fitness, and tactical knowledge. We strive to cultivate well-rounded individuals who, upon reaching the end of their educational journey, are equipped to make informed choices that lead to lifelong healthy and active lifestyles.

Core PE at Falmouth School is not just about sports; it's about promoting and enhancing different aspects of students' health and well-being. For those with a keen interest and passion for sports, our BTEC Sport course offers a dynamic blend of practical and theoretical lessons. Students are assessed through practical demonstrations, external exams, and coursework-based units. The course covers essential topics such as fitness for sport and exercise, training for personal fitness, practical sports performance, and sports leadership.

In the Sixth Form, sports take center stage with students having dedicated afternoons for exciting enrichment opportunities. From the Netball and Football academies to fitness sessions and general sporting activities, students have the chance to explore and excel in their chosen sports. Regular fixtures against other colleges and sixth forms provide both fun and competitive opportunities, fostering a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Additionally, a variety of enjoyable enrichment sporting trips take place each year, offering unique experiences beyond the school grounds.
